Wedding Caterers in Italy

An Italian wedding is built around the table — the long lunch that becomes dinner, the antipasti that keep arriving, the pasta course your guests will still be talking about next year. Some venues cook in-house (many masserie and castelli run their own kitchens, often with menu minimums); exclusive-use villas and estates more often welcome an external catering team, which is where choosing well really pays.

Wedding catering in Italy is priced per person, and the quote normally carries far more than food: service staff, tableware, linens, kitchen equipment for the venue, and the cake. The spread between regions and formats is wide — which is exactly why we show ranges rather than a single number.

How to choose well

  • Taste before you sign — a menu tasting is standard practice for weddings in Italy; treat reluctance as a warning
  • Confirm your venue's rules first: in-house kitchen, preferred caterer list, or free choice — it changes everything about the quote
  • Ask exactly what the per-head price includes: staff, tableware, linens, cake, and kitchen hire are sometimes lines, sometimes bundled
  • Check minimum guest counts — many venues and caterers price from a 50–60 cover floor
  • Build the menu around the region and the season — Italian caterers do their best work with what is local that month
