Everything you need to know

Villamena is a seventeenth-century villa at the foot of Assisi, in 25 hectares of its own land with the Umbrian hills on every side, and it is taken for exclusive use for the whole of a wedding stay. The house belonged to the Sbaraglini family, nobles of Assisi, and for more than 14 years it has been run by Raffaella Covino and her family, who were among the first to bring destination weddings to Umbria. Eleven private apartments across the estate, each named after a tree from the land and each with its own kitchen, bathroom and patio, sleep 49, so the whole party stays together. The covered terrace seats 100 under a roof that closes fully, with a sweeping view over the green valley; the refectory seats 100 among choir stalls and fratino tables from the 1600s; the garden, a wide lawn framed by fruit trees, seats 100 for dinner, with or without a marquee, and takes an open-air ceremony under a floral arch, and the pool looks across to Mount Subasio. The estate's own kitchen builds the menu around each wedding, with chef Alessio carrying the family recipes forward. Wedding packages start from €21,600, VAT included, for two nights and 30 guests, with exclusive use of the estate, a welcome barbecue, the ceremony, the wedding dinner with wine, an open bar and full event coordination all inside the price.

How many guests can Villamena take?

That covers exclusive use of the entire estate with all 11 apartments, the garden, covered terrace, refectory, pool, BBQ area, tennis court, football pitch, olive groves and trails, the professional kitchen and parking, plus a welcome BBQ, a symbolic ceremony, the wedding dinner with wine, an open bar and full event coordination.

About this venue

Villamena — wedding venue in Assisi, Umbria

Villamena dates to the seventeenth century, when it belonged to the Sbaraglini family, nobles of Assisi. It stands at the foot of the town, five kilometres from the Comune, in 25 hectares of private land that run through olive groves and fruit trees to the hills, with Mount Subasio across the valley. The refectory keeps its choir stalls and fratino tables from the 1600s.

Today the estate is looked after by Raffaella Covino and her family, who have opened their home to couples for over 14 years and were among the first to bring destination weddings to Umbria. The apartments carry the names of trees from the land, and the walking trails through the olive groves grew out of the family's favourite walks. The kitchen is the family's too: chef Alessio, after years in Michelin-starred kitchens, cooks the family recipes for every wedding, from truffle pasta, handmade tortelli and tiramisù to pizza, and everything from snacks to the cake is made in house or sourced from local producers.
