Puglia Wedding Venues for 150–550 Guests: 8 Best (2027)

Our editors' eight favourite Puglian venues for weddings of 150 guests and up — where the courtyard really seats the number, who sleeps on site, and which wet-weather room holds a big list. From a working masseria with no curfew to a resort built as its own village.

We list 29 wedding venues in Puglia, and twenty of them host 150 guests or more — fourteen clear 200 and five reach 300. That is two in three, against one in three in Tuscany, and the reason is architectural: a masseria is built around a courtyard, a barnyard and open olive groves, not a sequence of salons. These are the eight we would trust with a large wedding, ranked on the things that actually decide it — honest capacities, beds on the property, and a wet-weather room that holds the full number.

1. Borgo Egnazia — a village built for 550, with 183 places to sleep

Borgo Egnazia at Savelletri di Fasano is the region's ceiling, and the only venue in Puglia that solves scale and accommodation in one booking. Built from local white limestone as a reimagined Puglian village, it holds up to 550 guests across seven event spaces: La Piazza, the main village square, and the Corte pool area each seat 350, the Quattro Torri terrace takes 220, and the San Domenico beach club 150. The infrastructure is the point — 183 accommodations across 63 rooms, 92 houses and 28 villas, a private beach club on the Adriatic, the Vair spa, access to the San Domenico golf course, and a chapel on site. Bari and Brindisi airports are both 40 minutes away, Ostuni 20. For the guest list that outgrew everything else in the region without outgrowing the beds.

2. Masseria Angiulli Piccolo — 400 in the olive groves, thirteen in the house

Dinner on the lawn at Masseria Angiulli Piccolo, Grottaglie, where the gardens take up to 400.

Near Grottaglie in the Salento hills, Masseria Angiulli Piccolo (from €7,800) is a private 17th-century masseria in tufo stone, and the second-largest capacity in the region: the gardens take up to 400 guests, with a main reception room for 100 and a private pool among the vines and olives. Its numbers are worth reading carefully rather than quickly — the estate sleeps 13 across seven rooms, so a 400-guest wedding here means the couple and immediate family on site and everybody else in Grottaglie, Ostuni or Alberobello. Housekeeper and chef service is included, external suppliers are welcome, and the wedding season runs April to November. Brindisi airport is 40 minutes, Bari 70. For the biggest outdoor dinner in Puglia outside a resort.

3. Masseria Capece — 300 in the courtyard, no curfew, and a mill for the rain

In the Valle d'Itria between the sea and the hills of Cisternino, Masseria Capece (from €2,500) is an 18th-century working agricultural estate across 35 hectares of millenary olive groves — one of its trees is 2,100 years old. The main courtyard takes more than 300 guests, the aia, the old threshing barnyard, has panoramic sea views, and the 1846 olive oil mill seats 170 as a wet-weather plan with more character than most venues' plan A. There is no night-time curfew, civil and symbolic ceremonies are both available on site, catering is open — bring your own or take the estate's suggestions — and all 11 guest rooms, sleeping 39, are reserved for the wedding. For the big wedding that wants a working estate, and a rain plan with a story of its own.

4. Masseria Don Luigi — the glass gazebo that seats 240

In Contrada Coccaro at Fasano, a minute from Fasano station, Masseria Don Luigi (from €8,500) is a restored whitewashed farmstead whose numbers hold up under pressure: gardens for 300 guests, a terrace or loggia for 60, and — the rare thing at this scale — an air-conditioned glass gazebo seating 240, which makes it one of very few Puglian venues where a 200-plus guest list sits down under cover in comfort rather than in a marquee. Fourteen rooms and suites sleep 34 on site, there is a pool, and couples bring their own photographer, florist and music while catering comes through the estate's exclusive partners. Brindisi airport is 30 minutes, Bari 45. For the big wedding that wants a real wet-weather room, not a contingency.

5. Chiostro dei Domenicani — a 15th-century cloister for 300, minutes from Lecce

Chiostro dei Domenicani (from €3,500) is a 15th-century Dominican convent just outside Lecce, and the only venue on this list whose scale comes from arcades and a contemplative courtyard rather than olive groves. It hosts up to 300 guests, with 18 rooms sleeping 40 on site, in-house catering, and external suppliers welcome. Brindisi airport is 30 to 60 minutes away. For couples who want baroque Lecce within reach of the party — a different Puglia from the masseria countryside, with the city's bars and restaurants a short drive away for the days around the wedding.

6. Masseria San Giovanni — a consecrated church and a 420 sqm greenhouse

At Pozzo Faceto near Fasano, five minutes from the beaches, Masseria San Giovanni (from €18,000) is a restored 18th-century estate in the Epoca Collection and the most completely equipped venue here for a large religious wedding: an on-site consecrated church means the ceremony never leaves the property, and civil ceremonies are available too. The wet-weather cover is unusually thorough — a 420 sqm greenhouse as a plan B for 200 guests, a stone-vaulted indoor room for 80, and a 240 sqm covered waterproof gazebo. Thirty-eight guests sleep on site across a Tower Suite with sea views, three terrace suites with outdoor Jacuzzis, a suite with an indoor Jacuzzi and nine double rooms, served by an in-house concierge team and chef, with a full property buyout available. Brindisi airport is 30 minutes, Ostuni 15.

7. Masseria Spina Resort — a thousand years of fortress, and sea views from the citrus grove

On the coast near Monopoli, Masseria Spina Resort (from €3,000) is a monumental fortified complex spanning the 11th to the 18th century, once owned by the noble Meo Evoli family, set in seven hectares of ancient olive groves with sea views. The venue takes weddings of up to 180 guests, moving from a citrus grove ceremony with an Adriatic panorama to aperitivi by the pool; for dinner the citrus grove seats 120 and the main courtyard 100, with the Sala delle Mangiatoie for 60 and an on-site chapel for symbolic ceremonies. Six distinct historic residences sleep 30, from 15th-century barrel-vaulted lamias to an apartment that served as a WWII bomb shelter, and in-house catering starts at €125 per person. Bari airport is 40 minutes, the nearest beach five. For the smaller end of this list, with the most history per square metre.

8. Masseria Borgo Ritella — 150 guests, 38 beds, and the whole place for three nights

Between the hills and the sea at Fasano, Masseria Borgo Ritella (from €32,000) is a restored family farmhouse taken whole for a wedding. The gardens seat up to 150, with an indoor restaurant and a terrace for 60 each, a pool, and civil or symbolic ceremonies on site. Seventeen rooms and suites sleep 38. The price is set out plainly: exclusive use is €10,000 a night with the rooms and breakfast included, three nights is the minimum for a wedding, and a €2,000 wedding fee comes on top, VAT included throughout. The kitchen caters weddings of up to 60 itself, from €170 a head; above that an outside caterer of your choosing takes the dinner, and at least one event of the stay still uses the house kitchen. Municipal rules end the music at 2am, indoors or out, and fireworks are possible. Brindisi airport is about 40 minutes. For a three-day wedding at the bottom of this size range, with a quarter of the guests waking up inside the venue.

Twelve more that take 150 or more

The list does not stop at eight. Masseria Borgo Mortella takes 270; Villa Cenci Relais Masseria and Masseria Alchimia 250 each; Ostuni a Mare 202; and Masseria Le Carrube, Masseria San Nicola, Tenuta Monacelli and Luce Beach 200 each. At 150: Masseria Le Cerase, Masseria Traetta, Pettolecchia La Residenza and Villa Lena Puglia. For the national picture, see our large wedding venues in Italy guide.

What the scale actually costs

Eleven of these twenty venues publish a starting price, and they run from €2,500 to €32,000 with a median of €5,500 — but a venue figure is never the wedding. The table below is what our budget calculator returns for 200 guests in Puglia: one day, peak season, villa or estate hire, a standard plated menu and a standard open bar, with photography and videography both included. Puglia carries a 0.95 regional multiplier there, which with Sicily's 0.92 makes them the only two regions priced below the all-Italy baseline.

200-Guest Puglia Wedding — Indicative Budget

Venue hire, one day (villa or estate)€6,300–11,500
Catering, 200 guests (€114–209 pp)€22,800–41,800
Open bar, 200 guests€7,600–17,100
Wedding planner€4,000–15,000
Photography & videography€4,000–15,000
Flowers & decor€2,900–11,400
Music & entertainment€1,500–7,000
Indicative total (with ~10% contingency)€54,000–131,000

The useful part is what happens to the per-head figure as the list grows. On the same inputs, the calculator's typical total works out at roughly €465 a head for 150 guests, €406 at 200, and €347 at 300 — because the venue fee, the planner, the photography and video, the flowers and the music are all fixed costs that do not multiply per guest. Only catering and the bar scale with the number. A large wedding in Puglia is not cheap, but it is the one guest-list size where each additional guest costs noticeably less than the last.

How to choose between them

Check the covered number, not the headline. Puglia's big capacities are courtyard and olive-grove capacities, which is exactly why the region does scale so well — and exactly why the rain plan decides the shortlist. Only three of these eight name a covered room for a large list: Masseria San Giovanni's 420 sqm greenhouse for 200, Masseria Don Luigi's air-conditioned glass gazebo for 240, and Masseria Capece's 1846 olive oil mill for 170. Make the venue walk you to the room where your full number sits down.

Then count the beds separately. A 60-guest wedding improvises accommodation; a 200-guest wedding cannot. Borgo Egnazia has 183 accommodations, Chiostro dei Domenicani sleeps 40, Masseria Capece 39, San Giovanni and Borgo Ritella 38, Don Luigi 34, Spina 30. Angiulli Piccolo takes 400 and sleeps 13. Both models work — what fails is discovering the gap after the deposit. Our guide to venues where guests stay on site covers how to run a room block at this size.

Ask about the curfew in the first email. At 200 guests the hour the music stops shapes the whole evening, and it varies venue by venue across the region. Masseria Capece states no night-time curfew and Borgo Ritella's music ends at 2am; everywhere else, get it in writing before you fall in love. Our Puglia cost guide puts numbers on the lines that multiply per head, the masseria wedding guide explains how whole-estate hires work in practice, and our planning timeline shows what to lock when — which matters more here than most places, because twenty venues in the region take a list this big, each has one Saturday a week, and they are competing for the same couples. Shortlist the ones that fit and send them at once: your private page answers questions straight away where a venue has shared its details, and lets you ask each one to check your date.

Questions couples ask

How many Puglian venues can host 150 wedding guests or more?

Twenty of the 29 Puglian venues in our directory take 150 guests or more, and all twenty offer exclusive use. Fourteen clear 200, nine clear 250, and five reach 300 or beyond: Masseria Capece, Masseria Don Luigi and Chiostro dei Domenicani all list 300, Masseria Angiulli Piccolo takes 400, and Borgo Egnazia tops the region at 550.

Why does Puglia suit a large wedding better than Tuscany?

Proportion. Twenty of our 29 Puglian venues take 150 guests or more — roughly two in three — against 43 of 126 in Tuscany, which is about one in three. The reason is architectural: a masseria is built around a working courtyard, a threshing barnyard and open olive groves rather than a sequence of indoor salons, so the space for a big guest list is already outdoors and already there.

What does a 200-guest Puglia wedding cost?

Our budget calculator puts a 200-guest Puglian wedding at roughly €54,000 to €131,000, with a typical figure near €81,000 — one day, peak season, villa or estate hire, a standard plated menu and a standard open bar. Puglia carries a 0.95 regional multiplier in the calculator; with Sicily at 0.92 they are the only two regions priced below the all-Italy baseline. The per-head figure falls as the list grows, from about €465 a head at 150 guests to €406 at 200 and €347 at 300, because the venue fee, planner, photography, flowers and music do not multiply per guest.

Can all our guests sleep on site at a large Puglian venue?

Usually only some of them. Chiostro dei Domenicani sleeps 40 across 18 rooms, Masseria Capece 39 across 11 rooms, Masseria San Giovanni and Masseria Borgo Ritella 38 each, Masseria Don Luigi 34, and Masseria Spina Resort 30 across six historic residences. Borgo Egnazia is the exception at scale, with 183 accommodations. At the other extreme Masseria Angiulli Piccolo hosts up to 400 guests and sleeps 13. Count the beds as a separate exercise from the banquet seats.

What is the wet-weather plan for 200 guests in Puglia?

Ask to be shown it, because at this scale it is an architectural requirement rather than a footnote. Three of our eight name a covered room for a big list: Masseria San Giovanni's 420 sqm greenhouse is a plan B for 200 guests, Masseria Don Luigi's air-conditioned glass gazebo seats 240, and Masseria Capece moves dinner into its 1846 olive oil mill for 170.

Which large Puglian venues have no music curfew?

Masseria Capece states it outright: there is no night-time curfew. At Masseria Borgo Ritella municipal rules end the party and the music at 2am, indoors or out. At any other venue, put the curfew question in your first email: at 200 guests it decides the shape of the whole evening.
